Hi!! I’m Lecksee, the maker behind Sleepy Human Studio.

Sleepy Human Studio is a small-batch ceramics studio based in Norfolk County, Ontario, creating wheel-thrown pottery inspired by nature and the quiet comfort of everyday rituals. Each piece is carefully handmade from start to finish in my home studio. Working in very small batches allows me to focus on thoughtful design, organic shapes, and hand-painted details that make every piece truly 1 of 1.

My love for ceramics began in a high school pottery class that I never quite forgot about. Nearly a decade later, I finally returned to the wheel and started adding ceramics to Sleepy Human Studio as a creative side project that has grown into something I adore. Outside the studio, I work as an outdoor educator at a forest school, and that experience deeply influences my work. The gentle curiosity of the kids I spend time with—watching bugs, collecting leaves, and noticing small details in the natural world—often inspires the shapes, patterns, and paintings that find their way onto my pieces.

These days, my wheel is set up right in my living room, surrounded by hundreds of houseplants and my two dogs that are ever so interested in what their mom is doing. Sleepy Human Studio is rooted in slow craft, intentional design, and creating handmade pieces meant to be held, used, and loved for years to come.
